| Description |
This
is a modern, four bedroom family home with a 25'x 14' swimming
pool, lovely inside/outside terrace, and wide views over the
Caribbean Sea, the Vigie lighthouse, and the north of St
Lucia.
The home sits on approximately 38,000 sq ft of slightly
sloping land in an old-style, heavily wooded residential
neighbourhood about 10 minutes drive south of the capital city
of Castries.
The garden is landscaped with several mature trees, colourful
shrubs and flowers. The house is located at the top of the
land, and is built in concrete. The downstairs area is for
utilities, maid's quarters, storage, etc. The main house is
reached via steps, leading to the pool area and the house's
main entrance. The entrance consists of rounded steps, leading
to a red terracotta tiled verandah that runs all along the
front of the house. The main feature of the house itself is a
round, glass-fronted tower that is central to the design.
Entrances into the living room are located on either side of
the tower. Inside, the glass tower extends all the way to the
roof, creating an atmosphere of light and openness. The living
area is slightly sunken, with a comfortable entertainment area
to one side.
Outside, a path leads to a wooden gazebo, which creates a
private area making the most of the gorgeous seaviews and
tropical breezes. Classical Caribbean wooden reclining chairs
make this the ideal place for watching the cruise ships sail
by with a sundowner in hand!
Impressive mature trees, flamboyant trees, coconut palms,
decorative palms and bougainvillea provide a tropical natural
setting as well as almost total privacy.
The house was built by the current owners, approximately ten
years ago. It has a good concrete driveway and a parking lot
for three cars. The roof is made of white Caribbean metal and
the house is in a very good state of general maintenance.
